Innovators Unplugged

DESCRIPTION

Innovation does not happen in isolation. New ideas grow when people meet, exchange perspectives, share resources, and connect with others who bring complementary skills, experiences and questions.

With this year’s motto, “Connecting the Dots”, Innovators Unplugged 2026 explores how we can strengthen the innovation ecosystem at UniBE, Inselspital and beyond to help ideas move from first sparks to real-world impact.

Join us on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, at the Haus der Universität and its garden for an evening of inspiration, networking and peer learning with researchers, students, entrepreneurs and supporters, co-organized by the Innovation Office and the Entrepreneurship Center!

We begin with short insights into innovation projects from our community, followed by a conversation with Vice-Rector Heike Mayer on fostering an engaging transdisciplinary innovation ecosystem. Main component of the evening is a structured networking and concluding Apéro, creating space for exchange, new connections, and creative encounters.

In the spirit of “Connecting the Dots”, professional cartoonist Filippo “Sketchy” Buzzini will capture ideas and impressions from the evening in live sketches, helping us to visualize (existing and possible) connections between people, projects, and disciplines in our innovation ecosystem.

No long speeches. No rigid program. Just a lively evening to connect people, ideas and possibilities.
