This Workshop on Venture Governance offers (aspiring) founders, investors, board members and senior leaders a concise, practice-oriented introduction to startup and scale-ups governance, and corporate venture activities. It focuses on the specific governance challenges of high-growth environments, where innovation, speed, and risk-taking must be balanced with oversight, accountability, and sustainable value creation.
Participants explore governance models suited to entrepreneurial ventures, the allocation of roles and decision rights between founders, investors, boards, and management, and how governance needs evolve as ventures scale. Key tensions, such as control versus autonomy and experimentation versus discipline, are addressed through real-world cases and interactive discussion.
This Workshop enables participants to reflect on their own board roles, exchange experiences with peers, and develop the confidence and clarity needed to govern ventures effectively without constraining entrepreneurial momentum.
What are the benefits of participating:
Clarify governance roles and decision rights to balance entrepreneurial freedom with effective board oversight
Strengthen strategic and risk judgment in high-growth, high-uncertainty venture environments
Enhance board value creation by governing ventures in a way that supports scaling, innovation, and long-term outcomes
